5 Days Uganda Primates safari starting with gorilla tracking in Bwindi forest national park and chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale national park
Our company tour guide from Enjoy Rwanda safaris will pick you up from your hotel in the morning to start on your safari.The drive is approximately 6 hour drive through villages, towns, highlands, and grazing lands southwest we get to Kibale national park. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the Moon / Primates lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

Morning breakfast and proceed to Kibale National park headquarters 8:00am for chimpanzee tracking. Tracking will begin and last for about 3hrs get back by mid noon. While tracking, look out for primates like the colobus monkeys, families of chimps, a diversity of birds and an abundance of butterflies and other tropical insects. You will have a picnic lunch there, and then you will take an optional visit to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary a superb ecotourism site established to protect the Magombe swamps-a haven of birds (137 species) and a number of primates. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the Moon / Primates lodge.

Kibale – Bwindi Gorilla Forest
Set off early for Bwindi impenetrable forest after breakfast at your hotel. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing for the gorillas the next day. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma community.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

Today is the day for the grand gorilla safari. You will have an early breakfast and with packed lunch you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and then later on at 9:00 am you will set off along the tracks in the thick forest to go search for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the walk might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. The walk is tiresome however meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and heartbreaking wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer.Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma

Day 5: Return to Kampala
This morning after breakfast, pack your luggage to drive back to Kampala, The drive will take you to stop at the Equator for photographs, and reach Kampala in the afternoon.
