5 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari

This 5 Days safari is an exclusive package concentrating on wildlife viewing in Murchison falls national park, queen elizabeth national park and also including chimpanzee trekking in kibale forest and kyambura gorge in queen elizabeth national park. You will a launch cruise at kazinga channel connecting Lakes Edward and George which is a good site for bird watching but excludes the mountain gorillas. The trip starts and ends in Kampala Uganda.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale forest National Park
After an early breakfast, our driver guide will pick you from the hotel and drive you via tea plantations having a lunch stop in Fort Portal. Kibale forest is a home to several families of primates including habituated chimpanzees. It has 11 species of primates, including many families of chimps and colobus monkeys, buffalo, warthog, Uganda Kob and over 300 bird species.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking Safari

You will have morning breakfast and transfer to the national park head quarters for briefing by the park rangers. You will then follow trails in the forest led by an armed ranger guide as you search for the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee trekking is a trilling experience as you look out for other animals such as colobus monkeys, families of chimps, along with a diversity of birds and an abundance of butterflies and other tropical insects. You will have a packed lunch there, and then you will take an optional visit to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary a superb ecotourism site established to protect the Magombe swamps-a haven of birds (137 species) and a number of primates. Day 3: Transfer from Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, you will depart from Kibale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park taking you approximately 3-4 hours drive, arriving in the afternoon, you be rewarded with a game drive while entering the park.Relax around the pool after lunch and later go for an early evening game drive. While in the game drives, expect to see many various animals including Lions, Leopard, Hippos, Buffaloes, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog, there is an outstanding 606 bird species that include the Swallow Tailed Bee Eaters, Black Chested Eagle, the Martial Eagle, black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl and African skimmer among others.
Among the Primates in the park are Chimps, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. The park is also gifted with reptiles including; the African Rock Python, Spitting Cobra, Gabon Ripper, Puff adder, Green Mamba, turtles and crocodiles, which are frequently sighted on the Mweya Peninsula.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Launch Cruise

Depart for Kyambura Gorge early morning after breakfast at your lodge. The Chimpanzees are more closely related to humans than to any other living creature,and are tremendously fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. Return to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax by the swimming pool.
In the afternoon a Launch Cruise along the Kazinga Channel gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari lodge/Katara Lodge/Park View Lodge.

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala
After a morning breakfast, you will depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park and return back to Kampala. You will then connect to the airport for your return flight.
